California Coastal
The many precedents of beautiful local Spanish architecture became the source of inspiration for this California waterfront property. Working with a team of talented local craftspeople, we reworked the entire house for a better flow of rooms and ample guest space, adding arches, wood beams and wrought-iron details, as well as a glazed rear façade. Everything had to be approachable; we wanted to evoke a feeling that was more collected than decorated, electing to accomplish this with a cross-cultural assemblage of furniture, textural fabrics and one-of-a-kind accessories, including some outstanding vintage pieces from the sixties and seventies. This home is all about beach life and it’s meant to be welcoming to bare feet and bathing suits.
