Keeping in mind the 1920’s Mediterranean vernacular of this newly-built hacienda, we used strong Spanish-style design elements – terracotta floors, hand-hewn beams, plaster walls , steel doors – and appropriate Moorish details to create the backdrop for the owners’ furnishings and collections. A mix of old and new gives any house character and adding elements of history immediately grounds a new house and gives it a sense of place.
