This apartment is located in a converted office tower in New York’s Flatiron District, overlooking Madison Square Park. While the residence did not require a gut renovation, strategic changes included replacing the entry’s heavily veined marble with a more tranquil limestone, staining the floors a dark ebony, implementing a well thought-out lighting plan and painting the walls a warmer vanilla color. The homeowners’ scholarly collection of art – including Helen Frankenthaler, Yayoi Kusama, and Anish Kapoor – was complemented by a thoughtfully curated collection of one-of-a-kind pieces. This includes vintage pieces by Fornasetti and Philip & Kelvin Laverne, as well as stunning dandelion light fixtures by Studio Drift.
