Los Angeles Residence
In this contemporary Southern California house, the daily dance of the sun’s rays and contrasting shadows truly work their magic. The minimalist architecture prioritizes an enfilade of spacious volumes, commanding vistas from space to space, contrasting textures, magnificent views out to the landscape, and indoor/outdoor living. Our goal was to create intimate environments within these large volumes enhanced by sumptuous materials and seductive lighting. We strategically brought the outdoors in with several massive trees and exotic plants. Adding antique rugs and vintage pieces also instilled a wonderful tension through the juxtaposition of new and old. These also spoke beautifully to the client’s centuries-spanning collections, from massive ancient fossils and antiquities to fantastic contemporary art.
